The various ASM TA versions (B-D) follow the progressive modernizations of the locomotive. The TA’s were modified shortly after their introduction with a second Mars type headlight added due to a grade crossing accident. Later modifications included: addition of M.U. plug on nose, narrow diaphragm installed, cut side skirts, battery boxes, open coupler pilot, large number boards,exposed roof exhaust manifold,re-painting and lettering.
The TAs were separated early on from the articulated Rocket sets and used system wide.There are photos of the TAs double headed elehpant style and back-to-back. Also photos showing TAs lashed up with E units and DL-109s.
